"Welcome to High Country Vacation Cabins"

Owned and managed by Nick and Brenda Oates, located in the Northwest corner of Mt. 6 miles from the small town of Eureka, and 7 miles from the Rooseville Port of entry into beautiful British Columbia.

We offer your choice of two lakefront cabins on Tetrault Lake (known to most locals as Carpenter Lake). Our cabins sit on 4 plus acres with over 600 ft.of lakefront and offers your own private access.

This lake has been stocked by Mt. fish and game with  rainbow and cutthroat trout, and offers awesome fishing, both fly and spin cast. A maximum of 10hp boat motors or less is all that is allowed which makes for a very quiet, enjoyable stay. For those water sports enthusiasts, both Sophie Lake and Lake Koocanusa are located less than a mile away offering boat ramps and picnic areas for all your faster paced, water sporting needs.

If big game hunting in Mt. has been your dream,we are less than 1 mile from 100's of acres of National Forest. Or, if you are just wanting to try something new for the holidays, our cabins offer everything you will need for preparing that special Thanksgiving or Christmas feast for you and your family, We will even provide a Mt. xmas tree (did you know Eureka has been named the Christmas tree capitol of the world?) Just mail your gifts prior to your arrival and we will do the rest!

Also, for those snow bunnies, we are conveniently located within 55 miles of beautiful Big Mountain ski resort in Whitefish, Mt. and 45 miles from Fernie Snow Valley, in British Columbia, Canada. Wildlife viewing is abundant, in the springtime, there are a pair of bald eagles that seem to enjoy the lake as much as we do! On any given morning they can be seen flying over the lake catching their breakfast. Deer, elk, fox, loons and wild turkeys also frequent the area.

The Trout Haven Cabin: With just over 800sq. ft. and comfortably sleeps 6,  one large private bedroom, with queen size log bed, and a set of log bunk beds as well. There is also a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. You will find the electric fireplace to be quite charming and cozy! This cabin, offers a large shower and full size W&D for your convenience. The Loon's Nest: The largest of our two cabins approx; 1600 sq. ft. has a sunken living room with a wonderful fireplace,(firewood provided) and floor to ceiling glass overlooking the lake. You can sit in front of the fire and actually watch the fish surfacing on the water. This cabin comfortably sleeps 6 plus. There are 2 private bedrooms with queen sized log beds and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Air mattresses are available upon request. A large bathroom with tub and shower and a full size W&D are also provided. Holds up to 6 people. $179 per night for 2 - $10 per person per night over 2 people. Both cabins are fully equipped with everything you will need for your vacation getaway! Consider us to be your home away from home! Just bring yourself, and any food or drink you will need during your stay and leave the rest to us!

Cabin Amenities: Electric heat CD player Telephone w/voicemail Satellite TV w/VCR and DVD offering 300 plus channels Full kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster and dinner ware. Payment and Refund Policies: A 350.00 dollar deposit is required to book and hold your rental week. Payment in full is due 45 days prior to your arrival date and 60 days prior to your holiday rental arrival. After your full payment is received, your deposit converts to a damage & or cleaning deposit. If additional time is needed to clean your cabin I.E. cleaning of carpeted areas, spilled items on floors or refrigerator, food spills or boiled over items on stove or in the oven, dirty dish's and glassware there will be an additional cleaning fee deducted from your deposit. This does not include lines and towels, these may be stacked in laundry room. If your pet is with you it is expected that they be picked up after, I.E. cabin, grass, swimming and boating area. If a pet mess is left there will be a cleaning fee deducted from your deposit. Please try and leave the cabin in the same condition as when you arrived. Thank you your deposit will be refunded via same form of payment after inspection of the cabin. Please remember there is NO SMOKING in the cabins! In the event you need to cancel, we will do everything we can to re rent your week, (and hope you do also), If, we re rent your week your payment will be returned to you in full. In the event we are unable to re rent your week you will forfeit all monies paid.
